RevitaVet Sponsors Two Unique Dog Agility Teams!

Recently RevitaVet attended the World Dog Expo in Secaucus, NJ where Tom was introduced to national dog competitions which take place around the country every weekend.  As a result, RevitaVet has become a sponsor of two teams which compete at national dog agility competitions.

Flyball is a unique dog sport in which teams of dogs race over a line of hurdles to a box that releases a flying tennis ball when the dog presses the spring-loaded pad.  The dogs then catch the ball and return back to their handlers while carrying the ball.  Flyball is run in teams of four dogs, as a relay.  The course consists of four hurdles in various heights and distances apart.  Each dog must return the ball across the start line before the next dog crosses. The first team to have all four dogs cross the finish line error free wins the heat. Penalties are applied to teams if the ball is dropped or if the next relay dog is released early. Talk about a fast sport, these dogs are faster than a speeding bullet.  RevitaVet is proud to announce their support of the team, Hard Drive Flyball.

Another event that caught our eye at the Expo is dock jumping, also known as dock diving.  Dogs compete by jumping for distance or height from a dock into a body of water, usually a pool.  RevitaVet is now sponsoring Steve Mize of North America Diving Dogs (NADD) and his team of dogs named Team Southern Charm.  Steve’s team of dogs compete in a variety of disciplines including dock diving, agility, and disc catching.  The RevitaVet system is currently in use at these canine agility competitions.

We caught up with Steve, who is the head of operations for NADD and has been competing in dog sport for 10 years, training his dogs to 6 national and world championships.  One of his top dogs, Rayne, is a former national championship in dock jumping and has finished in the top 15 in Frisbee National Championships.  His 9 year old chocolate lab, Willow, was 3rd in Veterans Division at AKC World Championships held each year in Orlando.

Steve was quick to volunteer his opinion on the RevitaVet System as a new user of the product.  “My feedback is 100% positive.  I’ve been using the RevitaVet twice a week with my dogs after their conditioning, frisbee or endurance work.  My 9 year old chocolate lab Willow gets it all the time.  I can tell you I’m seeing that her endurance and comfort level is up, as she tends to gets more sore as she gets older.”

NADD as an organization has seen a huge level of growth and popularity in these dog competitions, with over 10 thousand members and 250 competitions country wide, RevitaVet is thrilled to get involved in canine competitions and events!

RevitaVet has also established connections in the service dog world, as military and police dogs benefit greatly from the RevitaVet system’s preventative maintenance and rehabilitation therapy.  These dogs train hard, get tired and are susceptible to injuries just like any other athlete.  We are planning to exhibit in several services dogs conventions as well as the 2018 K-9 American Working Dog Olympics held in Denver, Indiana late August where the best will compete in various disciplines.  Stay tuned for more press from this great event!
