Leslie Law

Leslie Law born on May 5, 1965, Hereford is a British eventer, riding Pippa Funnell, won the individual gold medal as well as a team silver medal in the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. He started riding at age 10, competing with his brother, and participated in his first accredited event in 1982. He attended Lady Hawkins' School, where his passion for riding really shone. By 1989, he was a widely respected competitor. 

Known for his consistency, Law has a string of successes including a team silver in Sydney 2000, European team gold in 2001 and 2003 and World team bronze in 2002. Shear L’Eau who he rode into gold medal position in Athens is full brother to Shear H20 who was his Olympic mount in Sydney 2000. 


At the European Championships in Ireland he was given the pathfinder’s role in the team for the first time and responded superbly with a faultless performance across country. His performance set up the British team for a successful defense of the European team title and he clinched the team gold with just one fence down in the final show jumping phase, finishing in fourth place individually.

Leslie and wife Lesley Grant, a top notch Canadian eventer in her own right, spend their winters in Ocala, Florida and summers in Bluemont, Virginia.
